What is the connection between Yoga and massage?
Yoga and massage includes the same stretching exercises including what they would give you at physio. We believe it is important to stretch and we do encourage our clients to do so.
When you have a massage you are technically exercising the body giving the muscle fibers a stretch. Like with any exercise you should always stretch before and after any exercise.
Yoga helps build the core strength and improve the muscles over time. But it does have to be regular.
Most of my patients come to see me with musculoskeletal or nerve related pain, which has either started following a physical accident, or just general aches and pains. The body’s biomechanics and posture can highlight the origins of injury.
Once your body’s have been injured sometimes it is a case of keeping the body moving with General maintenance, to keep their bodies feeling subtle, limber and healthy. It also helps with avoiding aches and pains through movement.
This apply’s to getting you regular massages usually this is once a fortnight. Most people I see this regular don’t have problems such as knots.
If you have had pain for a long time then the muscles for the first 2 months I would recommend once a week then every 2 weeks for general maintenance. Don’t forget this also works on helping prevent injury’s.
